Warranty Information

We stand by the quality of our lighting. Most products include a standard 1- or 2-year warranty, and many are eligible for extended cover for extra peace of mind. Below is a simple overview of what’s covered and how to make a claim if you ever need to.

Standard & Extended Warranty

  • All products come with a 1 or 2-year standard warranty from the date of purchase.
  • Some glass components may be excluded from warranty.
  • The exact warranty period is shown on the product packaging and under Specifications → Warranty on the product page.

Extended Warranty Options

Eligible products can be registered for additional cover beyond the standard period:

  • 2-year extended warranty — 1-year standard + 1 extra year
  • 3-year extended warranty — 2-year standard + 1 extra year
  • 5-year extended warranty — 2-year standard + 3 extra years

To activate extended cover: download our Extended Warranty Form and submit it within 90 days of purchase. Once verified, we’ll send you a Customer Warranty Registration (CWR) number—please keep this safe, as it’s required for any extended warranty claim.

Warranty Terms & Conditions

Definitions

  • Product: the item purchased that the warranty applies to.
  • We / us / the company: Hakolino (the warranty provider).
  • You / your / the customer: the warranty holder.


1. General conditions

1.1 A valid CWR number is required for any extended warranty claim. Claims without a CWR will be rejected.

1.2 The product must be installed by a qualified electrician, in accordance with the instructions, applicable law and regulations, and in suitable environmental conditions (e.g. temperature, moisture, airflow).

1.3 Do not install in or near marine, sea or coastal environments (unless specified as 316 Grade or above) or where fertilisers/chemical pollutants are present.

1.4 Unless authorised by us in writing, any repair, attempted repair, alteration or modification will void the warranty.

1.5 The product must not be subjected to improper use, misuse or damage, including failure to carry out regular cleaning and aftercare as described in the instructions.

1.6 Scheduled maintenance must be followed where applicable (e.g. operation checks and battery replacement for emergency products).

1.7 Voltage variation must not exceed 230V +10%.

1.8 Coverage assumes average use of 3,000 hours per year. Temperature and voltage fluctuations can cause earlier failure or depreciation beyond component manufacturers’ expectations.

1.9 The extended warranty is non-transferable.

1.10 For extended cover, you must notify us in writing within 5 calendar days of the defect occurring or being discovered.

1.11 Unless we confirm otherwise in writing, the full product must be returned when making a claim. We will provide the return address once the defect has been reported.

 

2. Duration of warranty

2.1 The extended warranty begins immediately after the standard warranty ends and runs until the extended period expires. Repairs or replacements made under extended cover are protected only for the remaining extended period linked to the original purchase.

 

3. Services under this warranty

3.1 During the extended period, we may—at our discretion—repair or replace any part (or the whole product) found to be defective due to faulty materials or manufacturing. If an identical replacement is unavailable, we will provide a close alternative of similar specification in good faith.

Making a Warranty Claim

Email our Customer Service Team at support@hakolino.co.uk with:

  • Your CWR number (for extended warranties)
  • A clear description of the issue and photos if available
  • Proof of purchase

We may ask you to return the product for inspection. If a manufacturing defect is confirmed, we’ll repair or replace the item at our discretion. If a like-for-like is not available, we’ll offer a comparable alternative.
